Church Leaders

Derek and Fiona Best
Derek & Fiona Best are GC’s senior ministers. Derek is Senior Minister and Fiona leads the Worship team. Both are born-and-bred Kiwis, they have three adult children who are all completing or just completed tertiary qualifications. Derek also has a management role in a leading IT company and Fiona is a registered nurse at an Auckland hospital. They have a deep desire to see the church activated and living out their god given purpose both individually and corporately

William and Marian Than
Marian leads Friday Night Prayer ministry and regularly teaches at Sunday services. William supports the Meet-and-greet ministry. Marian is Kiwi and William is Malaysian. They were missionaries for 30 years before returning/coming to NZ. They have three adult children and six delightful grandchildren.

David and Kenny Davenport
​David leads the Meet-and-Greet ministry. Kenny leads the hospitality ministry and is a Board Trustee. Kenny & David hail from the United States, Kenny is originally from El Salvador. They have two adult sons living in the USA and in August 2024 welcomed the arrival of their first grandchild. They own and operate a security alarm business.

Larry and Eileen Lim
Larry is a Board Trustee, and Eileen leads the Children Helpers ministry. Larry & Eileen are both from Singapore, having made NZ their home in the early 2000s. Back in Singapore they have an adult daughter and son-in-law, and three gorgeous grandchildren.

Rajeev and Tania De Zoysa
Tania leads Children’s ministry and Rajeev plays several instruments in the worship ministry. Rajeev and Tania came from Sri Lanka to Aotearoa in 2022 for Tania to complete a Masters in Indigenous Cultures and Languages. They have two primary-school-aged girls. Tania works in early childhood education and Rajeev works for an international micromobility company.

Xandria Sik
​Xandria is a Board Trustee and regularly service leads on Sunday mornings. Xandria came to Aotearoa from Malaysia as an 18-year-old university student and never left. She met husband Raymond, also Malaysian, at Canterbury University. They have an adult son completing his architecture PhD in Belgium. They own and operate a ticketless carparking management business.

Pearl Wilson
Pearl assists Pastor Derek with GC’s operations and administration. Pearl is Maori and married to John who is Kiwi. Pearl has three adult children from a previous marriage, and from them have come six grandchildren who are the delight and joy of both her and John. Pearl works in quality assurance for a kaupapa-Maori healthcare and social services organisation.
